We will review common "roadblocks" to Farm Succession Planning from the viewpoint of both the senior generation and the incoming generation, considerations for off-farm siblings, and both the tax impact and family impact of Succession Planning. We will then offer suggestions for beginning the Planning Process, including tools to assess the readiness of the senior generation and the readiness of the farm.
