John Bergman - 1,4 Group

John supports the Midwest and Eastern U.S. potato markets by providing technical and marketing expertise for the region.  He graduated magna cum laude from North Dakota State University with a degree in Agronomy that emphasized crop protection.  For the past 30 years John has directed sales, product development, and field research on several crops and seed products with major companies such as Cargill, Sandoz, Syngenta and Amvac.  In these varied capacities, he worked one-on-one with growers and processors in the agricultural industry to provide maximum revenue generation for the products they produce.  Through his consulting work in 2006, he was introduced into the potato industry working with the 1,4Group out of Meridian, Idaho.  John specializes on the management of the potato “Storage Season” and how growers can maximize their revenue stream with superior quality.  This has included on-site commercial field-testing trials and the development of “E-Fresh” application technology.  E-Fresh Technology that has opened the door to new application techniques for the potato industry.  John is originally from a sugar beet and small grains farm near Oslo, MN and currently resides in Fargo, ND with his wife Claire.
